Jim Kilcoyne
President
Jim manages and supervises all aspects of construction services. Construction is his life's work, introduced to the trade by his carpenter grandfather, apprenticed in the carpenter union at the age of 18, and working continuously in the industry as a tradesman, foreman, project manager, and contractor for the last 30 years. Jim is a veteran with experience and familiarity with most construction practices. Jim has lived in Poipu since 1982 when he came to Kauai with the carpenter's union to foreman crews.
He has been a member of the construction team of every resort project in Poipu to date along with the former Westin (Marriott) in Lihue and the Hanamaulu Bridge. Jim has also been building residential units on the south shore for 20 years having a framing and finish crew that performed the carpentry work on dozens of homes throughout the south shore during the 80's as a subcontractor prior to getting his general contractor license and founding Coral Sea Construction Inc. in 1991. Jim brings the project management skills refined by running large and small projects along with the practical savvy of years of field experience. He has knowledge of all the trades and can value engineer and quality control any scope of work. He has extensive computer, administrative, and management skills, as well as working knowledge of all standard construction documentation. These skills enable Jim to communicate effectively with the entire project team, clients, consultants, financers, and contractors. Jim has been a resident of Poipu Kai since 1982, along with his wife Leslie, and his two boys.
